Studio Art, MA

The Master of Arts in Studio Art promotes advanced study in ceramics, graphic design, painting, printmaking, photography, sculpture or time-based art.

Studio Art MA students are required to produce a written thesis and, at the graduate committee's discretion, may be required to hold a thesis exhibition.

The 36-hour, non-terminal studio degree can be completed in two years.

Explore an advanced method of study in ceramics, graphic design, printmaking, sculpture or time-based art and produce a written thesis.

Your learning goals as a Studio Art MA student are:

  • Developing advanced capacities to work independently and make effective artistic and intellectual judgments and professional decisions in the area of specialization.
  • Demonstrating professional competence in the area of specialization before peers and faculty.
  • Gaining knowledge and skills in one or more areas outside the major.

  • Honors

    Expand your curiosity — and enhance your curriculum — through the ÁñÁ«ÊÓÆÁ Honors College. Two programs are offered: for first- and second-year students and for third- and fourth-year students.

Program Facility - Creative Arts Center

Canady Creative Arts Center

The Loulie, Valerie and William Canady Creative Arts center boasts 4 exhibition spaces, 5 performance spaces, 33 individual practice rooms and 50 classrooms and studios with plenty of space to create. The loading dock at the rear of the building is a wonderful open-air space with stunning acoustics.

Admission Requirements

To be eligible for admission into a graduate program at ÁñÁ«ÊÓÆÁ an applicant must submit official, bachelor's degree transcripts from a regionally accredited institution and hold a GPA of at least 2.75. ÁñÁ«ÊÓÆÁ operates decentralized admissions. Decentralized admissions allows each graduate program to set its own application requirements in addition to the University requirements.
